Congrats Dia! And a Touch of Elven Payback...

Dia tp'd me over to Suffugium (I wish I had a pic of Gomi's von Trapp Family Victorian urchin look) where she told me "Ohmigod! I partnered Dewitt!" Yes, "ohmigod!" is right! I am happy for them both, as he's a good match for her and wish them both much happiness in their inworld future! I would also like to congratulate Eds upon her recent partnering with Zen, and I wish them much happiness as well. And um...my "Come a little closer moon elf, I won't hit you over the head with my sword hilt" trashtalking came back to haunt me when Lunar beat me twice tonight back to back. Arrgh. Here, he is just demonstrating to me what one of his Spellfire system staffs can do...

Moon Elf vs Dark Elf Sparring

As most of you know, I love to fight...particularly with swords. When I recently upgraded my graphics card, #2 on my list of SL things to do was "Fight Lunar". Okay, so it said "Whup Lunar"...that's besides the point. My Vista plat is perfect for sparring and we both really needed practice. I put on my new dark elf armor that I started making and we went at it using DCS2. I found it very convenient that he had to leave when I was beating him. Until next time...

An Interview

I met publisher and agency owner Starlet Maximus for an interview for her SL magazine Black Pearls. I had a very nice time talking to her about being a designer inworld and my RL fashion influences and inspirations. She will be running a spread featuring my 1920s and '30s designs. I'll keep you posted about when it will be available...

Little SL Happinesses

I have little things that make me very happy while inworld. One of them is watching and listening to the waves crash at my home in Steelhead...Another is doing so while dancing with a handsome elf on my roof...*sighs dreamily*

Steelhead Tinies Under the Sea Dance

Steelhead held a tinies under the sea-themed dance that was way too cute. How often does one get to see Lunar as a mer-bunny?The creator of the tinies mer outfit, Etheria Parrot, was tickled when I sent her this picture. "I've never seen them so customized before!" she said...
We had a great time, both tinies and mermaids alike...
Me...well...yeah...

Hanging with Dia & Dewitt

Dia tp'd me over to the Wastes, where I got to meet her man Dewitt, who is a really nice guy. They gave me a tour of his place, which included a trip in this high altitude elevator with a fantastic view of the arid landscape below...

Templum ex Obscurum

I remembered Bettina Tizzy's NPIRL photo challenge from the other day and finally visited Templum ex Obscurum, a beautifully atmospheric sim created for Cuwynne Deerhunter by Baron Grayson of Relic and Sanctum Sanctorum fame. I wandered through its murky darkness, in my mind a story of a blue elf lost in the wilderness running through my mind... The column beckons...
Lit from below...
The waters swirl...
An Ophelia drown'd?

The Couple That Flies Together...

I thought I'd start my evening inworld with a calm sail around Laval Point...But you know me...I like excitement! Adventure! I figured Phin would be up to some as well so we headed over to Second Skies...
Where Phin took me up in the skies over Extropia Core in his WWII-era RAF plane by Bancos Milestone and showed off some fancy flying. I was like "WAIT...did you just do a roll?!" and made him do it again. We've both done lots of loops, but not rolls inworld. I think he surprised himself and did it again! YAY! And yes, I came away with two new planes myself...a cool barnstorming bi-plane and a tiny GeeBee!

I'm Back! And Better Than Before!

Well, my computer is now that I had it upgraded while I was away in the RL country for a week! I feel like I am too after spending time at my family's country house listening to the birds, playing guitar, talking to my grandmom and getting some general clarity on both RL and my SL as well. I needed that time to heal in a way and two things became clear that apply to both: Spend time with those you care about the most and do what brings you the most happiness. Let go of past hurts, move forward and focus on living in the moment...create the world in the way you want it to be.

Finally, I can see Windlight in its beauty, so the first images I took were of Laval Point...
It shrouded in fog...
And the water at Caledon Regency. It is the water that I could not wait to see the most! Beautiful! I gasped when it first switched over!
I had Phin to take me sailing as being on the Firth of Caledon and seeing it for the first time like this was spectacular. There really are so many beautiful things inworld. I want to go back to a lot of favorite places and see them all again now!
Sometimes, despite all of my excitement and love of travelling all over the grid, it is simple things like watching the sun set over the water with Phin that makes SL worthwhile...

Space Colony Necronom VI

During my quest to explore and visit futuristic sims, I went to Space Colony Necronom VI before I left for vacation...Necronom is a RP sim--dark futuristic--and is set on a space station filled with slaves, cyborgs, crew members, aliens, traders and pirates. I picked up their interesting HUD called NeMit, which allows you to accomplish missions without necessarily being a part of the overall RP. I honestly like that idea as I have found that as a noob in other RP sims you can often don't know what to do with yourself and it feels hard to integrate with the long-established cliques already present...
Hmm...what's this? An energy core of some sort? I won't get too close just in case...
Roaming the corridors of the different halo levels...
Stasis time! I had better not wake up to some creature on my damn face!

Yoa Ogee Avatars and Roaming Extropia Core

I loved creator Yoa Ogee's installation at the NPIRL Garden and had a great time stocking up on the fun, inventive avatars at Yoa's shop such as this tiny steampunky hovering hamster...I wore one of Yoa's avatars, and feeling very "Sputnik"-like, I thought Extropia would be the best place to explore in it! The architecture and feel's a bright shiny positivity, so different from the dystopic, post-apoc feel of a lot of future sims...
I paused at the Gort statue ("The Day the Earth Stood Still")...peace and robots...
And talked to Extropia's co-founder Vidal Tripsa about Extropia's vision and I enjoyed her hover device...
I realized it was my first time meeting her and switched over to my steampunk cyborg kitty look. She switched looks too and was wearing a very interesting training corset that reacts in terms of how long it's worn. I had a really nice time in Extropia. Visit if you get the chance...even if it's in "Sputnik" form...

Truthseeker and Magic

Artist and fellow NPIRL gardener Truthseeker Young (who is so frickin' cool) really liked a flickr photo of my "Magic" flying fishie ride from the Tower, so I thought I'd drop a copy of it. You can see for yourself what was thought about it!

Does My SL BF Make Me Look Fat?

Anyone who has read this blog knows that I shapeshift on a regular basis, so when Phin said he'd like to see the world as a female avatar, I was like, "Okay!" His RL sis, Zoe, and I have been helping him out with his look and advice and I think it's given him an interesting, fresh perspective on both SL and women in general. He's been happier lately inworld than he has in months. I mean, we know plenty of guys walk around in SL as women, but how many have been willing to openly talk about what that's like and the things they notice/experience?

It's been fun seeing him wrestle with things that I, as a RL woman, take for granted/common knowledge...like shoes, clothing variety, and more. To me, it's still my Phin. It's not like his male form has gone anywhere and this is just another form, you know? Besides, in a world where you can be anything, why should it matter?

Here's a pic of femPhin below...You can follow his adventures out in the world HERE...

Tiny Olympics End & Squirrel-on-Squirrel Violence

I had a wonderful time participating in the Raglan Tiny Olympics and a month later, it has come to an end with my tem, Green, taking the overall bronze. I had a great time doing this . It just reaffirmed how great the tiny community is to me! Pictured (l to r): Chaffro, me, Eleanora, Mutley and Angel before the Team Green hut......and me in front of the medal platform with my medals...
Afterwards Phin and I were hanging out on my building skyplat and I was showing him my BlackOps outfit and pistol (which works!). Sorry about your toe sweetie!

SL Plurkers Las Vegas Party

There is a thriving community of SL-based folks on Plurk, and some of our European and overseas members (Kitty and Tiernan) threw a Las Vegas themed party inworld, slot machines and everything. Jun was DJing and it was fun seeing everyone (Tenebrous, JellyBean, Rosie, Dakota, and ArminasX) like that...I couldn't stay long at all for the rest of the fun--as RL was calling me--but my showgirl outfit was quite something for the moment I was there! Viva Las Vegas!
Just to give you an example of the fun, crazy things we talk about in Plurk, I started a thread about "If there were SL diseases, what would they be called?" Vint Falken, inspired by it, continued it on her blog HERE...
