Steelhead Museum of Historic Preservation Open!

I've been hard at work for the past month making the Steelhead Museum of Historic Preservation, which is located in Steelhead Harborside. It is in a re-creation I built inspired by the real-life 1897 Antelope Community Church located in Antelope, OR. Its exhibit--showing Steelhead's virtual builds and their real-life counterparts--also includes preservation information and links to national and Pacific Northwest historic preservation websites so that visitors may find out more information...Steelhead is a town with beautiful architecture. As you stroll through it, you will come across many buildings that are inspired by real life structures. Look for the site markers that allow you to click on them to find out more about its RL inspiration...SL is a fantastic medium for builders and architects, enabling them to use it to re-create historic buildings and structures. In turn, this allows citizens from around the world to visit and appreciate them as well. I created this museum so that others can learn more about these historic structures and perhaps become inspired to look at, or even help to preserve or save, the ones in their RL communities. To visit the Museum, click HERE...

New E.Laval Release: Seaside Summer Dress

Inspired by a favorite painting by Tissot, the Seaside is a beautiful flirty summer dress perfect for soirees or leisurely strolls. A slim silhouette, it comes with a sheer jacket with lace cuffs and sculpted bows, as well as a fluttery train and cascades of ruffles that flatter your every move.

It is available in Sky, Rose, Aubergine and Canary, as well as all four colors at E.Laval shops in Caledon Regency and Steelhead City.
Here is the painting that inspired it--"The Gallery of the HMS Calcutta"...

Building Away in Steelhead!

I have been very busy inworld lately, between trying to finish up some new dresses and menswear for the warm weather months and creating new buildings in Steelhead Harborside. I'd post what I've done so far building-wise, but a certain elf insists upon being surprised by them.

They are based upon this 1897 church building in Antelope, OR and the historic 1897 Martinson's Cabin in the WA town Lunar & Tensai live in and should be down by the end of the week. The cabin will be a post office and the church will be a small museum, although I haven't decided upon its theme yet. It'll be either historic preservation, quilts, the Pacific NW, or Steelhead itself. I might even change the exhibit according to what I feel like and I hope that folks will enjoy it. I truly love to build and like the idea of creating something nice for others in the community to enjoy.

Steelhead Tour

I love the town of Steelhead. Not just because for me it is my inworld home and there's sense of true community, but also because it is one of the most laid-back of the 19th c historic sims due to the zany quirkiness that happens there on a regular basis. Lumina helped to organize the Steelhead Tour, where visitors to Steelhead's four sims (Steelhead City, Harborside, Boomtown & Port Harbor) can explore area landmark and merchant locations and get free gifts when they find the trout...Some of the displays are a lot of fun. Fish. Did I mention we love trout there?
Come on over and join in on the fun until April 14!

Just Another Night in Steelhead

I logged in tonight and got a tp right away to main Steelhead. Why? The chipper was out. This notorious piece of machinery is brought out from time to time. Your AV touches it, you get pulled through, you can guess the rest. Why is everyone on the ground though? Oh, whiskey. Yes. The whiskey did it. That's the mayor of Babbage in the center there, looking on and probably thinking "What the hell?!"They tried to get me to touch it ("Touch the magic box little squirrel!), but it doesn't work on tinies. Krystine brought out the riding ostriches, and then Remington produced a pole and made 3L dancing. I was told I was overcharged. At some point, Mrs Peterman flew off with a seagull. We were all laughing so hard it hurt. Only in Steelhead.

SOLD! Caledon Mayfair Parcel Rights Available

This property has been sold. Thank you!

I am selling the parcel rights to my lovely little lot and original Caledon land in charming Caledon Mayfair...

The lot is at #5 Lemon Street and Green, next to the rail tracks and down the way from the Connolly Aerodrome and Penzance. The neighbors in Mayfair are friendly and quiet and it has been quite a nice place to have a small shop in Victorian/19th c setting.

I am selling it for $7364L, which is the 7364L original price I purchased the land rights for from the Guvnah and it has 70 days rent included. You will continue to pay tier (375L/wk) to him. It is a 1024 lot with 234 prims available and if you would like to have the shop building, I will be more than happy to include it. It was a wonderful Caledon starter property for me and I hope it will be for the next resident as well! Click HERE if you would like to visit and see the property.

Please feel free to contact me inworld via IM or notecard if you are interested. Thank you!

Rivet Town Inventor's Expo

Phin and I popped over to the Rivet Town Inventor's Expo, which featured steampunk inventors, designers and builders. I had a booth there with some examples of my designs. While wandering around, we met Selkett Felwitch, who made this elegant, beautiful steampunk air vehicle. Its wings contract and expand and it's one of the most unique designs I've seen for a steampunk flying vehicle in a while. Can't want to get my hands upon one...

Lunar Finished the Build...FINALLY

Lunar has been working on a reproduction of the Mannheim Wasserturm (Water Tower) for a month now. I helped with some of the textures and a conch shell for a statue *chuckles* ("A conch is a critter Lunar! A sea critter! A yummy sea critter!") It is, in a word, "spectacular." He finally finished and has temporarily set it down in Steelhead City...I've been following its progress since the beginning, but held off on publishing photos until now:

Lunar and I celebrated its completion with a tango on the lighthouse roof. Look at the expression on my face! I look like we've been caught by the paparazzi or something...

I'm Back! And Better Than Before!

Well, my computer is now that I had it upgraded while I was away in the RL country for a week! I feel like I am too after spending time at my family's country house listening to the birds, playing guitar, talking to my grandmom and getting some general clarity on both RL and my SL as well. I needed that time to heal in a way and two things became clear that apply to both: Spend time with those you care about the most and do what brings you the most happiness. Let go of past hurts, move forward and focus on living in the moment...create the world in the way you want it to be.

Finally, I can see Windlight in its beauty, so the first images I took were of Laval Point...
It shrouded in fog...
And the water at Caledon Regency. It is the water that I could not wait to see the most! Beautiful! I gasped when it first switched over!
I had Phin to take me sailing as being on the Firth of Caledon and seeing it for the first time like this was spectacular. There really are so many beautiful things inworld. I want to go back to a lot of favorite places and see them all again now!
Sometimes, despite all of my excitement and love of travelling all over the grid, it is simple things like watching the sun set over the water with Phin that makes SL worthwhile...

Dark Victorian Fashion Show

I had some pieces in the Dark Victorian's "Dark City" show today. I hadn't modeled before, so I was kind of nervous. I imagined somehow walking off the stage despite the anim or some other crazy glitch kicking in, but everything went really well!Lapointe & Bastchild were the headline designers, but there were also pieces from Lapin Paris, Fuschia Begonia, and Terry Lightfoot...
Afterwards, Dia spun goth tunes as we all danced...

Being Proper

Here I am being a proper lady playing Kheph's glass armonica that he built. Many of you are probably either like "Elle's a proper lady?" or "What's a glass armonica?" I can at least answer the second question HERE...

Elder Gods in October Country

My friend Kheph invited me to the October Country sim to see some Lovecraftian Elder God monsters he created. Here's a view of the sim from its fantastic lighthouse build...Kheph in the Martian AV he created...
Here I am at the lighthouse bridge in an as yet-to-be released Skye Qi mourning dress with a great veil!
Talking to Kheph...
Before being eaten by Dagon! Yay! I did it 3 times!

Hunks of Victorian Guys

*sighs dreamily* I don't need to say anything more except Steelhead made over its goal at the fun Shirtless O'Clock fundraiser tonight. With guys like Phin here losing their shirts? I know that I was happy...

Riding Horses With Kitty

Kitty got dressed up and we went to Caledon to try out her new horse Bucephalus. What better way to relax after a proper ride (okay GALLOP) like that than to have high tea. Scones and lemon curd, mm MMM!

Fighting and Axes and Swords, Oh My!

As I said, I lost the bid, but Sir Telemachus (in the black) invited me to watch him spar at the arena in Scagnar, a mild Gor sim. He asked me to wear a dress that covers my arms (easy enough as I was still dressed in Victorian garb). Gorean culture has its own rules, and while I can not say that I agree with them (for instance, women in Gor culture)--like cultures anywhere else, I will still respect them. I was treated rather politely and well actually.

I didn't know what to expect, but I can tell you, the matches were fantastic! Watching Sir Tele and his brothers fight was actually very exciting! It seems that leisurely Caledon living had made Tele a little out of practice (hanging out at the Falling Anvil will do that it seems), so he ate sand for the first few matches. But then he got his bearings and boy, were the matches great! Axe vs. sword, then sword vs. sword and the last one was well-fought. He won the last two and I'll admit, I had a great time. He hopes to bring sparring and fighting instruction to Caledon. I think it's a great idea. I'd do it!

Caledon Wanderings: South Pacific Dance/Beefcake Auction

Greetings! I attended the Relay for Life South Pacific-themed Dance & Beefcake Auction last night. I donned my retro bikini (after one I saw in a photo from the "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair" scene). Ten of some of the most interesting gentlemen in Caledon had put themselves on the block, much to the delight of ladies such as myself, who bid on them for a fun date. I may have lost the bid at the last moment for Sir Telemachus (after being highest for an hour!), but I do believe I have now made a new friend in him. His offer of a weapons lesson during the date was what caught my attention! Forget romance and dancing, this time the prospect of gripping cold hard metal and learning how to wield it caught my breath. Okay, and the fact that he's handsome too didn't hurt either, LOL!

I would like to thank the Baron Bardhaven for the lovely picture of me he gave to me recently!

Caledon Wanderings: The Caledon Werebeast

Greetings! I have been enjoying my life as a new Caledon resident. There is always something interesting going on there. One of the major things that have folks all abuzz is the Caledon Werebeast that has been prowling the land. I heard he was on the move, so I hopped on my horse, and through sheer luck--a pursuit began!

Hunting the Caledon Werebeast!
