Not-Lunar and Not-Tensai

Lunar and Tensai were away for tonight's meeting, so Veles and Mrs P thought they would act as stand-ins for them...

Steelhead Tour

I love the town of Steelhead. Not just because for me it is my inworld home and there's sense of true community, but also because it is one of the most laid-back of the 19th c historic sims due to the zany quirkiness that happens there on a regular basis. Lumina helped to organize the Steelhead Tour, where visitors to Steelhead's four sims (Steelhead City, Harborside, Boomtown & Port Harbor) can explore area landmark and merchant locations and get free gifts when they find the trout...Some of the displays are a lot of fun. Fish. Did I mention we love trout there?
Come on over and join in on the fun until April 14!

Just Another Night in Steelhead

I logged in tonight and got a tp right away to main Steelhead. Why? The chipper was out. This notorious piece of machinery is brought out from time to time. Your AV touches it, you get pulled through, you can guess the rest. Why is everyone on the ground though? Oh, whiskey. Yes. The whiskey did it. That's the mayor of Babbage in the center there, looking on and probably thinking "What the hell?!"They tried to get me to touch it ("Touch the magic box little squirrel!), but it doesn't work on tinies. Krystine brought out the riding ostriches, and then Remington produced a pole and made 3L dancing. I was told I was overcharged. At some point, Mrs Peterman flew off with a seagull. We were all laughing so hard it hurt. Only in Steelhead.

New Taloo: Tattler Opening Party

Salut chers! Tonight I headed over to New Taloo Algiers to attend the opening of the Tattler, New Toulouse's newspaper...
I wandered through the sim for a moment, as I hadn't visited in a while...And then found my way to Le Chat Gris, where we danced until the sun came up!

New Toulouse Tattler Mugshots

Salut chers! Mr Cato Q took these hilarious mugshots of some of us New Talooers for the New Toulouse Tattler Ning. All I can say is that I think he got my good side at least. As for my speakeasy? What speakeasy? *looks around and grins*

The Thrill is Gone...

All it took was one day to leave a sour taste in my mouth. I had pics all ready to talk about my neighbor's museum in this blog and send you faithful readers there when it was open and ready to show that the mainland wasn't full o' blight, but I came to my little parcel last night to this...wtf? I had called myself being "neighborly" by creating something on that ugly sheer cliff face that I thought would fit the aesthetics of my place, as well as his. It seems my neighbor had some folks by to see his place and deemed my wall and sketch below as not fitting in with his "vision" of the museum as he felt it "read" as being part of it...
Now, I am not a difficult neighbor. I have never complained or lost my mind on one before. I am also not unreasonable enough to recognize that okay, I can understand his POV. This isn't a privately-owned sim, so technically I can put whatever the hell I want on my lot, but I was being nice. I support and am a patron of the SL arts in addition to being an artist myself, but...I felt, how does this bode for my original purpose of the land--one that I told this neighbor my intentions for? If I put my own sculpture and art or those of friends there--as originally planned--will I come back to ugly huge high walls everywhere next because it conflicts with his "vision"? Hmph. I had one too. Still do. Maybe I should've put gaudy rotating cubes, pink ponies and floppy dongs there instead?

Emperor V Returns!!!

I stood in Caspian's new home across the way from mine at Vista, giddy and excited because Vittorio was going to log inworld from the hospital day room!!! After two months, this would be the first time I had seen him since his accident. I saw the green dot appear on his land next door and rushed over and there he was..For those of you who question the connections we make in this world...think about this one simple fact: There was a time when I thought I'd never see him again. Not because he would've chosen to leave, or over a fight, but because I--nor anyone else--would have seen him anymore inworld or in RL. So when I saw him standing there, I didn't know whether to cry or what. All I could do was hug him over and over again...
I laughed as he put on (and kept on) a clown nose...
We didn't talk about the accident beyond how much longer he'd be in (weeks yet) and how unattractive one of his nurses is ("A face only the bedpan would love"). We talked about fun things like cute guys and the land and the other neighbors throwing huge parties. Vittorio was using Caspian's computer and teasing him mercilessly, making him turn red in RL...You all just don't know how utterly relieved I am to see this face in my life inworld once again. Get well soon babes!

Update on Vittorio

I had a chance to finally meet Vittorio's RL co-worker and friend Caspian Hawker, who has been keeping me in the loop as to how he has been doing. We have talked so often that when we met, we couldn't believe it was the first time. Like Vittorio, he is a wickedly funny cutie too! Like his blonde twin! I took a pic of me holding up a get well sign for him to see and laugh at.

Caspian told me that Vittorio's doing a LOT better, already sketching out plans for his lands and bored to death in the hospital, where it'll be a few more weeks before he's able to go home. But he is talking and laughing and asking about my house. Caspian passed along some furniture store links from him so I think I'll finally buy some furniture again. I want Vista to feel like my home again...

New Taloo: On the Verandah

Salut chers! Spent some time on the verandah with Rudolfo tonight, sipping whiskey as we talked about what brought us to Caledon and the wonderful New Toulouse. We enjoyed waving to and chatting with neighbors as they strolled by. As you can see, we were both really comfortable, and between the spirits and the laid-back feel, it's a wonder we both didn't doze off right there...

New Taloo: New Taloo Open to the Public

Salut chers! Thought I'd hop into my Model T and go around the town today. Ran into a little snag called the curb...Gryff placed his trademark octopus, weathered after all these years, on the top of the new Gallery...
I offered him a ride and ran into another snag--the streetcar...
After he insulted my driving I put him out and ran him over. Talk about my drivin', will ya? A bunch of us ended up talking in front of the Gallery. This is going to be an exciting place!
The Guvnah of Caledon and a few other notable Caledonians stopped through and gathered in Miss Pidgeon and Miss Ayres' gallery to congratulate Mama Cree upon officially opening New Taloo to the public...

New Taloo: Miss Elle Claims Her Lot!

Salut chers! Mama Cree put out the call to claim our land (land purchase and first rent payment so it's transferred) and she told me I was New Taloo's first renter! Ayibobo!Mama Cree, Gryff and I were talking with our neighbors June Wozniak and Henri Godenot. The land behind us will be a university, and she is modeling the building on that of Xavier's...
This is what New Taloo is looking like right now, and I can tell ya from meetin my new neighbors so far, this is gonna be a lively place!

New Taloo: Bubblin' with Excitement

Salut chers! Ellis, Zoe, Miss Vee 'n' me gathered at Laveau Square with Mama Cree. Zoe got declared the Sheriff, although she ain't ncessarily on the up n up, talkin' some under the table mess....30%! Pfft!Mama Cree loaded up the car and motored on over to show Zoe the new building for her Zoetrope studios...
And I thought I'd take the shot for this ad for a new outfit you can pick up. The "Orisha" is inspired by my RL West African robe, done up in white (you can see me in the "Rafetna" replica color version above) and perfect for all you voodoo/hoodoo priestesses out there...

Daydreaming and Terraforming

Last night found me all giggly and daydreaming under my golden maple as I thought about good things while sorting inventory...One day last week I came home to Vista to find a HUGE mountain behind it and a lot of my land taken along with it. I was livid and contacted management as well as my neighbor, who seemed good about it. Next thing I knew, within the day, that neighbor left and Vittorio had bought it instead (hoooo!) so my view will be preserved! Yay! He does beautiful landscaping, so we took it upon ourselves to terraform. I hope my long-time next door neighbor Lance likes the island we created by linking our edges to his water. We all take cues from one another's work, and Surf's a really beautiful place...

"Supposed" to Be Clearing Inventory!

I was sitting on my barrel with my whiskey while cleaning out my inventory (over 17000 items! Oh noes!) when my "playboy millionaire" hottie Scottish neighbor Vittorio asked me to see a new parcel of his. Being Empress to his God Emperor, how could I refuse? I didn't even bother changing out of my "cleaning" clothes...We ended up having a good time having wine at his friend Clags ' home, where we flipped through different hairstyles. I told Vittorio he was looking rather emo-ish today...
He showed me his meadow, where I ran around like crazy among the flowers and butterflies and hummingbirds...
And then we had too much fun riding on the swans in his pond...
