New Taloo: Gearing Up for Mardi Gras

Salut chers! Thought I'd head over to New Taloo and see what was goin' on. Mmhmm...I was a flapper possum...
Stood on Shotgun Row talking to Nikita Weymann and Louhi Gothly about Mardi Gras and goings-on in Taloo. Right now there's a big hunt going on. Lots of fun stuff to be found at the artists and merchants around town (including my place, Miss Elle's Lucky #7, on Shotgun Row). There's gonna be a big parade with floats on Sunday at Noon...I can tell ya, my being a possum wasn't the most unusual thing to see...TWO streetcards went by us (double the runnin' over trouble, I say) and a shout went out as Johnny Skosh rode by in one: "ZOMBIE!" He politely said hello to me as he went by. Guess possum brains ain't appetizin'. Gotta love this place...

New Toulouse Tattler Mugshots

Salut chers! Mr Cato Q took these hilarious mugshots of some of us New Talooers for the New Toulouse Tattler Ning. All I can say is that I think he got my good side at least. As for my speakeasy? What speakeasy? *looks around and grins*

New Taloo: Last Dance at Phin's Jazz Club

Due to RL & SL obligations, Phin & I just haven't been spending as much time in New Toulouse as we thought we would, so he and Zoe decided to go ahead and sell the jazz club. Don't worry, I'm still keeping Miss Elle's Lucky #7 Shop & Speakeasy and the Tomb of Catharsis Laval. The club is in a very nice spot, a 1024 just off the hub in Taloo. If you are interested, please contact Zoe Connolly, Phineas Messmer or Carricre Wind...I just happened to log in early and found Phin there packing things up, so we decided to have a last dance there, where we've had many happy ones. We always said the club was a great time, if only for just the two of us. Many thanks to all of you who enjoyed it!
Happy 9 months to you darlin' and on to the next adventure together! Shall we?

New Taloo: Piano Sirens & Conversation

Salut chers! Phin's club is a nice hangout and you can always get into a great conversation there. Or lounge seductively on top of the piano like Miss Vee here...You know I understand the power of the piano. What I'm impressed by is that she's lying of opposite way of what I'm used to doing!!Me, Dia and Miss Vee sat on the stage and chatted for a while. I'm tellin' ya, sometimes I will dance by myself if the mood strikes me, ya know?

New Taloo: Miss Elle's Speakeasy

Salut chers! If you're a Taloo resident, there's a little hush-hush place in town you can go to if you know where to look and who to ask. Dimly lit with a fully stocked bar, cigars, slow dancing, ragtime pianos and ooo...can't tell ya more!! Just know that when you pop in anything could be happening, including a shakedown from our rather corrupt Sheriff Connolly...

New Taloo: Easter Parade, Taloo Style!

Salut chers! We all gathered in the market all fancy in our Easter duds and frilly hats and Rudolfo and Mama Cree led an Easter parade through the streets of Taloo!Of course, we "somehow" ended up stopping through Lafitte's, where after a hat change for everyone it's a wonder how afterwards we were all able to make it down the street to...
The cemetery, where we paid our respects to the departed who couldn't join us...
And afterwards we would our way through to the DuBois Mansion, Rudolfo's inherited home, where Mr Fernshaw, Dia and Miss Vee played. Toot that jug Mis Vee!!!
There was dancing and music and fun and we all had a great time!!

Floating Away

I got a tp from Doc Mason simply saying "Mushroom in Spaaaaaace!" How could I resist it?And after I got my fill of weightless floating...
I came down to earth and laid across my fave spot on the piano in Phin's club as Henri played...

New Taloo: Breezin' Through...

Salut chers! Phin picked me up in his newest breezer...And we sped through the streets of New Taloo...
Before ending up on the roof talking to Sinclair, who runs the local air courier service. That's quite a short takeoff area!

New Taloo: Tomb of Catharsis Laval

As soon as you step into the cemetery in Taloo, you'll find an unusual tomb of one of my ancestors, Catharsis Laval. The epitaph reads "Tell this tomb your greatest fear. Then you move on...Let it stay here..." You can come to it and say whatever's on your mind that you need to get out, you know? Stop by the cemetery and find out for yourself!

New Taloo: Kickin' Up Our Heels

Salut chers! Today, we had an opening party of sorts over in the new Market! In the future, visitors will be able to find freebies and all sorts of goodies there. Today though? We partied, drank, and ate seafood gumbo... Dr GeorgeWashington Carver stopped through and enjoyed the festivities...
And later, I had a chance to play the music I transcribed for my flute to Phin at the Club...

New Taloo: Goin' for a Spin or Two

Salut chers! Phin swung by #7 Shotgun Row to pick me up and give me a ride in his new breezer! Ain't it the bee's knees???And we lindy-hopped the night away! Five months today, hon! This swell guy always makes me feel so much better and all those gray clouds I was feelin' earlier, just went "poof!" Gone!

New Taloo: Partyin' in Phin's Jazz Club

Salut chers! Got all dolled up in my glad rags and headed over to Phin's new Jazz Club right by the hub...Couldn't help but to dance a little as folks came in and out and chatted with us. I told 'im, it's a party even if it's just the two of us, ya know? We're still workin' on it, but the space is starting to look real swanky! Ayibobo!Dia and Gryff helped to break in the dance floor...
That's right Phin baby, tickle those ivories for me!

New Taloo: On the Verandah

Salut chers! Spent some time on the verandah with Rudolfo tonight, sipping whiskey as we talked about what brought us to Caledon and the wonderful New Toulouse. We enjoyed waving to and chatting with neighbors as they strolled by. As you can see, we were both really comfortable, and between the spirits and the laid-back feel, it's a wonder we both didn't doze off right there...

New Taloo: Possum Miss Elle n Spaghetti

Make a deal with a voodoo queen and sometimes you end up having to be a smaller version of yourself. "Eek! A mouse!" said Miss Terrakhan Yifu, our cemetery's caretaker. "A flapper possum, thank you kindly..." I said.Later on, while talkin to Miss Kara Wind and Gryff at Phin's Jazz Club, Miss Allison Cleanslate paid a visit--as a spaghetti and meatballs. New Taloo will be an interesting place indeed!

New Taloo: New Taloo Open to the Public

Salut chers! Thought I'd hop into my Model T and go around the town today. Ran into a little snag called the curb...Gryff placed his trademark octopus, weathered after all these years, on the top of the new Gallery...
I offered him a ride and ran into another snag--the streetcar...
After he insulted my driving I put him out and ran him over. Talk about my drivin', will ya? A bunch of us ended up talking in front of the Gallery. This is going to be an exciting place!
The Guvnah of Caledon and a few other notable Caledonians stopped through and gathered in Miss Pidgeon and Miss Ayres' gallery to congratulate Mama Cree upon officially opening New Taloo to the public...

New Taloo: Miss Elle Claims Her Lot!

Salut chers! Mama Cree put out the call to claim our land (land purchase and first rent payment so it's transferred) and she told me I was New Taloo's first renter! Ayibobo!Mama Cree, Gryff and I were talking with our neighbors June Wozniak and Henri Godenot. The land behind us will be a university, and she is modeling the building on that of Xavier's...
This is what New Taloo is looking like right now, and I can tell ya from meetin my new neighbors so far, this is gonna be a lively place!

New Taloo: Bubblin' with Excitement

Salut chers! Ellis, Zoe, Miss Vee 'n' me gathered at Laveau Square with Mama Cree. Zoe got declared the Sheriff, although she ain't ncessarily on the up n up, talkin' some under the table mess....30%! Pfft!Mama Cree loaded up the car and motored on over to show Zoe the new building for her Zoetrope studios...
And I thought I'd take the shot for this ad for a new outfit you can pick up. The "Orisha" is inspired by my RL West African robe, done up in white (you can see me in the "Rafetna" replica color version above) and perfect for all you voodoo/hoodoo priestesses out there...

New Toulouse is Open!

Got the call from Mama Cree that New Toulouse was open! She's still working on the builds, but a bunch of us popped in at Laveau Square excited and running around greeting one another! The textures are gorgeous! I really really hope people keep their builds or tweak them only slightly! I found Shotgun Row and my little green one at the very end of it. I'll sell my 1920s clothes and other things here and get into all sorts of craziness. I got my still from Mama Cree, so I plan on starting a rivalry with Ellis with my "Miss Elle's Hair Curlin' 'Shine", LOL...
Here's an overall view of the sim...
Gryff and I are talking to ArthurConan Doyle, who is also a resident here. I had to shout "Streetcar!" as we almost got run over!
This is my "Miss Elle" look for New Taloo: flapper outfit, bobbed hair, ostrich fan, lots of attitude, sass 'n' swagger and New Taloo patois. Here we are standing on the balcony of what will be the Inkyboy Gallery New Toulouse, which means double the curating fun for me! Someone has to keep Gryff in line! It'll be the permanent home of his Patina exhibit...
