The Gravity of an Unpacked Box

There were some really fantastic (and hilarious) ones...
If you've like to see these really fun builds yourself, head over to the barn in Steelhead City!
Obsidian Bay turned out to be a fun place to swim around in as a mer. Steel has a great sense of humor and seems like he has a tendency to sink things too, so there were things down there to see such as these eels. Knowing him, I assumed they were electric or something, so didn't get too close to them...
I was exploring some large wreckage and all of a sudden three large tentacles sprang to life. "ACK! TENTACLES! What the HELL?!" I said. I should have known...
Steel, being alien, came and joined me underwater. Seems I found his pet kraken by accident...
After all of that swimming I was a bit tired and thought I would go and relax in my bowl on the lawn. I am looking forward to exploring the waters of other places.
I would like to invite you all to join the citizens of Steelhead for the official opening celebration of their latest sim, Steelhead Shanghai! The architecture and narrow, mysterious streets of this Steampunk-meets-Asia sim are fantastic and a must-see.
I paused for a moment on one of its moon bridges...
This is Steelhead...so of course there is a trout temple...
Lunar, the "Mad Elf Builder", takes a break from his work for a moment...
The spanking brand new "Asian Steampunk"-inspired sim of Steelhead Shanghai landed while I was away. It is still in the terraforming and construction phase. I love when sims are fresh out of the LL oven like this. It's so extremely interesting to me to see how they evolve and what builds end up there. There are only a very few lots left, so if you're interested, please contact TotalLunar Eclipse...
Steelhead is a town with beautiful architecture. As you stroll through it, you will come across many buildings that are inspired by real life structures. Look for the site markers that allow you to click on them to find out more about its RL inspiration...
SL is a fantastic medium for builders and architects, enabling them to use it to re-create historic buildings and structures. In turn, this allows citizens from around the world to visit and appreciate them as well. I created this museum so that others can learn more about these historic structures and perhaps become inspired to look at, or even help to preserve or save, the ones in their RL communities. As we stood in the water, I truly enjoyed the spare, yet detailed pieces...
The detail on some of them was incredible...
I loved the huge "Ferrisquito"...
But this one? With the seedlings that float away one by one on delicate strands? This one was my favorite of them all...
Some of the displays are a lot of fun. Fish. Did I mention we love trout there?
Come on over and join in on the fun until April 14!
They tried to get me to touch it ("Touch the magic box little squirrel!), but it doesn't work on tinies. Krystine brought out the riding ostriches, and then Remington produced a pole and made 3L dancing. I was told I was overcharged. At some point, Mrs Peterman flew off with a seagull. We were all laughing so hard it hurt. Only in Steelhead.
Made a sign for the Gearz Club in Steelhead. I'm a sucker for spinning gears and I'm glad Sheriff Fuzz likes it. If you've never been there before, you should go if only to see the fantastic floor!
I had a good time getting my groove on.
And if you need further incentive, let me say this...out of all of the 19th c. sims, and I've visited or been involved in all of them at this point, I chose Steelhead to be my 19th c. home. Why? The friendly, laid-back neighbors, the weekly town meetings that not only bring us all together but keep us well-informed, the quick response of management, the acceptance and welcome of everyone no matter what or who they are...there is a sense of community there. You can't beat that. Here I am watching the koi at Steelhead Gardens. Did I mention that it is beautiful there too?
I've been following its progress since the beginning, but held off on publishing photos until now:
It shrouded in fog...
And the water at Caledon Regency. It is the water that I could not wait to see the most! Beautiful! I gasped when it first switched over!
I had Phin to take me sailing as being on the Firth of Caledon and seeing it for the first time like this was spectacular. There really are so many beautiful things inworld. I want to go back to a lot of favorite places and see them all again now!
Sometimes, despite all of my excitement and love of travelling all over the grid, it is simple things like watching the sun set over the water with Phin that makes SL worthwhile...
