I saw a door and knocked on it. A drow named R0anoke greeted me and one of her house members opened it from within. She gave me a tour of their Underdark, one of the nicest I've ever been to in SL actually, with rooms, training areas, tunnels, and caverns...

I came across a huge bear and quickly steered clear. I really liked their Underdark area and overall look. I think that with both, as I am so new to this that the "paragraph style" of RP'ing is frankly, intimidating as hell and I don't want to make an ass out of myself. I did a little RP back in City of Lost Angels/CoLA years ago, but it wasn't longer form para RP. It's unclear how to start as a newcomer to me. Do I need a mentor? How does that work? So many questions...

Exploring Terabithia

It's nice to get away and explore sometimes, so Lunar suggested we visit the Realm of Terabithia the other day as he was interested in a new fantasy RP sim. He had on a set of some of the most stunning elven armor I've seen. One of the first things that we did was to take a canoe around its waterways. We both couldn't stop laughing hard at one point as he ran it aground and kept on going--over land! We then hopped out and went on foot throughout its various sections that we had access to...
We had on our observer tags, which meant that we we were not to interfere with the ongoing RP, but its residents didn't seem to mind interacting with us anyway. Usually it involved a well-deserving suspicion of my intent as a drow on their lands. I suppose a dark elf travelling through surface lands with a moon elf is an unusual sight. We stood on the bluff near the underdark entrance that overlooked the lands and I teased him that I look forward to being his adversary. Now if only I can learn how to use Spellfire...

Dark Elf in Realm of Terabithia

I decided to check out a space in the Realm of Terabithia's market for my dark elf/drow and fantasy pieces, which I'll also be sharing with Lunar, who makes nice cloaks. As it turned out, the sim owner is a drowess as well and the Ilharess of her house, Agaden...
She took me on a guided tour of the sims (4 total), which are still a work in progress, and showed me areas such as the humans' keep, a sprawling build perfect for riders...Here I am in the tree grove in the lands of the elf clan there. The drow are currently at war with them, but then again when aren't we at war with someone?I crossed the bridge which leads to the orc area and the drow underdark... I truly felt like I was making quite the journey as we wound through the landscape, but when I stepped through to the underdark there, she said "Welcome home." This picture doesn't do it justice. It is a fantastic place, multileveled and complex and one of the best underdarks I've seen so far. It is also the location of one of the three main temples of Lloth. I know Lunar would love to see this area, but being a moon elf, he'd probably end up on a rack in the torture rooms there or something. Trust me, that happened to an elf during my visit...If you would like to see other places to enjoy being a dark elf/drow you can refer to my list HERE.

Where to be a Dark Elf/Drow in SL

Alright, I love being a dark elf in SL as it fits me very well personality-wise. Could I be a mean, arrogant, Spider Queen worshipping, snake-whip wielding, white-haired beauty hell-bent on cruelty and deceit? Hell yes, as a drow I can be! It's probably the only RP outside of Victorian/Steampunk that I'd truly like to learn more about and become more active in, that is...if I ever figure out the SpellFire system.

I thought I'd explore the dark elf/drow RP areas inworld and see what was out there. I know I'm probably missing some sims and I'll be adding to this list as I find more drow-appropriate places. If you are a member of one of these communities and would like folks to know more, please IM or drop a notecard to me inworld. As in all RP sims, take the time to read their rules, have at least a basic back story, and don't be a pain to the existing RPers...

Avilion Isle--L'Renden Forest

The drow of Avilion are Eilistraee followers and have made peace with the fae and other elves present there. The L'Renden Forest is beautiful, with its darkness and moonlit areas. You may read more about them here.

Drow are one of the races here. Ravenscraig also offers a RP class in Ravens Nest. The Dark Lord of Karamoon invited me to stop by his keep and say hello. I'll take him up on it if he's ever in.

New Drow/Dark Elf Armor

Okay, I find being a dark elf/drow too much fun and perfect for a weapons-wielding gal with a strong personality like myself. Since I got the skin months ago it has always been one of my faves to wear. Inspired by Lunar's armor that I made for him, I thought I'd make some for myself and voila...Yes guys, there's a version for you too...

Moon Elf vs Dark Elf Sparring

As most of you know, I love to fight...particularly with swords. When I recently upgraded my graphics card, #2 on my list of SL things to do was "Fight Lunar". Okay, so it said "Whup Lunar"...that's besides the point. My Vista plat is perfect for sparring and we both really needed practice. I put on my new dark elf armor that I started making and we went at it using DCS2. I found it very convenient that he had to leave when I was beating him. Until next time...
