Being Proper
Here I am being a proper lady playing Kheph's glass armonica that he built. Many of you are probably either like "Elle's a proper lady?" or "What's a glass armonica?" I can at least answer the second question HERE...

Relay for Life Kiosks
Although, like last year, I will support and help out with some of Caledon's activities for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life fundraiser inworld, I am actually on the Elizabeth Blackwell relay team of my friend Otenth. He invited me over to the ACS' headquarters to see the kiosks to be voted upon. Very interesting entries...

Hanging Out at the Sandbox
Kheph is a talented builder and scripter so I like hanging out with him at his favorite sandbox sometimes...I sort inventory or work on things myself and it's always fun watching others build. I was being a good girl. See? Even got my wings and halo on...
Earlier there had been a Caledon rose hunt and I was really unsuccessful in finding one, so he made me a pretty little one that opens and closes. Thank you!

SL Exhibit Hopping: Flowerball
Well, Kheph thought he'd surprise me--knowing how much I love creative SL builds and exhibits--and took me to see Flowerball! Remember, I just said that I was sorry I'd missed it in my post about its counterpart DynaFleur, but it seems I had just gotten lazy with my search...otherwise I would've known it was still in Princeton North!Kheph and I flew over to the ball with its layers of flower photos...
And I had a wonderful time floating...
Spinning...
And dropping through the layers...

Daydreaming and Terraforming
Last night found me all giggly and daydreaming under my golden maple as I thought about good things while sorting inventory...One day last week I came home to Vista to find a HUGE mountain behind it and a lot of my land taken along with it. I was livid and contacted management as well as my neighbor, who seemed good about it. Next thing I knew, within the day, that neighbor left and Vittorio had bought it instead (hoooo!) so my view will be preserved! Yay! He does beautiful landscaping, so we took it upon ourselves to terraform. I hope my long-time next door neighbor Lance likes the island we created by linking our edges to his water. We all take cues from one another's work, and Surf's a really beautiful place...

SL Exhibit Hopping: DynaFleur @ Princeton South
I missed Flowerball, so I did not want to miss DynaFleur...May I just say "oooooo"? Located at Princeton South, DynaFleur is a sim-sized installation that must be experienced and features the photography of Douglas Story, with sound by Dizzy Banjo, landscaping by Poid Mahovlich, and scripting by Desdemona Enfield. When I arrived, I wasn't sure what to expect...I dropped down from the upper platform to the next...
And into a riot of shifting colors...
The floral photography of Douglas Story is lush and gorgeous, and in this setting, you are immersed in it...
Once you are through the main part of the installation, you fly up to the huge panels of his photos and they unveil themselves. I felt quite small compared and found his works quite beautiful...
I am always amazed at the way that SL allows artists to present their work. I believe it allows us to experience art in ways we could have never imagined.

Torvaldsland and Toast
I first met Tele because I bid on him at the Caledon Relay for Life Beefcake Auction back in June. I lost the bid, but I gained a dear friend. At the time, he spent more time in the Gorean sim of Torvaldsland fighting, fighting, and more fighting. He had promised back then to give me a tour and climb the mountain with me...
First, he showed me around Hammersgaard with its scribery, town hall, infirmary and central fire that's always kept burning...
We chatted with a few bondswomen who admired my fur coat. I was concerned about them kneeling in the snow half-naked. He was really well-armed although the sim was empty. Seems he would have had to "speak for me"--as I was pretty, unveiled and a freewoman--if another warrior questioned me. He explained that sim is lenient, but others would've been in an uproar of sorts by me. I always find it a bit amusing, as I'm a pretty good fighter--with Gorean weapons no less. You know what I think about Gorean culture, but to each their own. We then climbed to the top of the mountain where he showed me the homestone...
I got a beautiful view of the sim and the adjoining one, Scagnar, where I had watched him fight in the arena long ago. We are both so busy that we rarely get to talk in person anymore, so afterwards, we sat and chatted for a long, long time and it was really nice. He rarely goes back there anymore and I was pleased to have him share somewhere that had once meant a lot to him in here...
Earlier, I had gone to Suffugium to meet Puck's oldest friend in SL Binne. I believe she's the one whomade the hologram of him. Of course he's in Scooby boxers and a "Toast is My Business" T with...rotating...toast...

Tiny Mardi Gras in Raglan
All week long, you can head over to the French Quarter in Raglan Shire as the sims there will be having Mardi Gras! Prizes, fun, dancing...Here I am in my Brazilian Carnival outfit...I am rather feathery, aren't I? Over 46 folks plus were present dancing and tossing beads and having a great time...
There was a choreographed performance by The Shirettes...
I took a break from dancing to enjoy a bowl of seafood gumbo. Stop by if you get a chance!

Great Toy Gathering
Dia invited me to come groove with her at the Great Toy Gathering. Only I would show up to a kinda cyberpunk/doll party dressed as a rusted retro steambot with a wood-burning furnace on her back. "Let's go hump the dancing boxes!" someone said. Ummm...Came back later and a fellow Caledonian, Marcus Tairov, almost got packed up and shipped off to Iowa by Subversive Vavoom. At least she marked the box "fragile"...
And what party would be complete without maneating plants? I dunno if brass kitties like me taste too good though!

Natural Hair and a Trip to Africa
While out in the world, I found this fantastic hair shop called A d i m u Salon! I was like a kid in a candy shop as I bought up her natural and braided styles named after stars of African descent with ad photos of models reminding me of friends and family...In RL, braiding's not a gift of mine, but my sister and cousin can with no problem. A d i m u's creator, Rubina Stanwell, does fantastic braided hairdos like this one--"Maya"...And this one, "Rita". In RL, I spent a month in Senegal (in West Africa) a few years ago. Women in Senegal are very style-conscious and folks pay attention to what you're wearing. I joked that I was in a nation of supermodels. In both photos, I am wearing an inworld re-creation of my RL floor-length Senegalese ndockette dress, with the fabrics taken from the actual garment...
I also re-created the flowing robes and headwrap of my grand boubou, a flowing garment that is common in West Africa. This is the version in white. Senegal is a 96% Muslim country and you will see most folks wearing white boubous and ndockettes on Fridays...
Here I am in the Africa sim (please make sure you check out the art for sale to support the sim and its positive cause!), wearing it in its actual hand-dyed fabrics (bazin--pronounced "bah-zahn"--cotton damask). The embroidery around the neck is also scanned from the actual garment and was hand-made as well...
I have always been interested in diversity and cultural experiences here in SL...I'm happy to be able to share one of mine with you all...

Happy Valentine's Day
Hola from Mexico!
I went to the Chichen Itza archaeological site sim, run by Mexico's tourism board today. It's really a well-thought out, informative sim and worth the trip...I found these Mayan sweat lodges...
And laid down and took a "journey". I do believe I understand what to do next with my Second Life...
I gazed upon a sacred limestone sinkhole...
And climbed the pyramid itself!! I had a great time exploring this sim!

Down Home Blues & A Bit of Booze
Gryffin invited me to come out and hear blues musician Von Johin. We had a good time listening to him singing blues standards and playing the heck out of his guitar...There are Gryff & Dia looking cool in their shades...
Later, it hit midnight and Valentine's Day. For once, it's Puck standing over me who is laid out on the floor of his home! Note to self: cookies, Guinness & dancing equals laid out on the floor...
