A Happy New Year to you and yours!
Here are my SL resolutions:
1. Spend more time exploring
2. Sail and fly more often
3. Not to let things get to me very much and enjoy myself. After all...as Tele once told me, "It's alright...you're just an avatar..."
4. Reduce my inventory
5. Manage my time better while inworld

Vote for More Groups! Using the Jira System
I hate leaving a group to add a new one...
Add that to the fact that I am a citizen of a literal micronation and you can only imagine how many groups I'm in just related to that. Toss in the landowning groups that I also have to be a member of due to my land holdings and there's another chunk gone, poof! I want to be a member of my friends groups or just groups that seem like too much fun (like "Ferret!"), but I can't. If you have the same problem that I do, you can go to SL's Jira system and vote on it HERE.
If you've never used it before, it's easy...When you're in the topic/issue, look in the left sidebar. Under "Voting", click on "Vote for it". You'll be taken to a log-in page if you aren't already, which is simple...the same usrename and login for the main SL site.
It's that easy!

23 Skidoo at Flashman's!
I got a flapper dress as a gift, which meant an excuse to wear my bob and go exploring out in the world. I ended up at Flashman's 1920s bar. From the dances and poseballs available, I am sure that when folks are there, it's a busy, fun, rowdy place! I hope to visit again when it's like that. Here I am looking very Louise Brooks...

Hunks of Victorian Guys
*sighs dreamily* I don't need to say anything more except Steelhead made over its goal at the fun Shirtless O'Clock fundraiser tonight. With guys like Phin here losing their shirts? I know that I was happy...

8 Things About Elle--the AV Version
Jenn Heinrichs of the Best of Second Life group tagged me for the 8 items meme (thanks darlin'...glad you enjoy the blog!) I've answered this in my "Stroll" blog HERE, so I won't go through the tagging others part since I've already threatened--I mean, convinced--them to do so. So, here in elinsl, I'll do an "Eladrienne"/SL version of it!
1. My AV's middle name is "Melinde". My RL nickname really is Elle.
2. I once got into an argument in SL in Spanish and, while passable, I am not quite fluent in it...I may have been calling him a "purple deer-eating bowl of hairclips" for all that I know!
3. My favorite architect is Santiago Calatrava. There's an "airiness" to his work that I love and SL seems like such a great medium to recreate or create builds inspired by his.
4. I miss my RL sister Baube Laval. She does not come into SL as much anymore. *frowns*
5. I like my men w/dark hair. Ooo. And red-brown. Light brown works too. And white hair! Ooo! Oh, forget it...I'm hopeless.
6. I have always wanted to be blue or a glowing ball of light as an AV. I like dark elves/drow too. And I love being a tiny.
7. I have a male shape that I use for my fashion design fitting purposes. No, I do not feel myself up. *rolls eyes*
8. I really enjoy art exhibits and talking to artists. Builders and scripters intrigue me and I always learn new things. I am always in awe of the creativity that I find here in SL and look forward to more.

Gehry-Inspired Build
The Tracer, head of the SL School of Architecture (SLSA), had the grand opening of his new Gehry-inspired build tonight, inspired by RL architect Frank Gehry and his Stata Building at MIT and the Guggenheim Bilbao. The Tracer (onstage), took a minute to talk to the assembled group of RL & SL architects and architecture aficionados about the build. Its original structure is 950 prims (and is still part of it), but the entire build tops out at 3750.
The build's usage is still being determined, so its open spaces haven't had their purposes determined...
He said he was also inspired by SL architect Scope Cleaver's use of interior and exterior walkways...
If you are a fan of architecture, RL or SL, you should go visit Architecture Island to see this for yourself!

A Swooner Sandwich?
We were having a great time dancing at the Radio Riel party at Alcatraz in the Jazzer's Paradise sim. My fellow Swooners Gabi and Eds were dancing in the cell, and then asked if I'd like to join them for a sandwich? Yeah, sure, why not?

Chilling with Eds & Dia
I got an IM and tp from Edwina simply saying "Put on a bikini and come on!" I had a great time lounging at a hot tub with her and Dia, and I don't know what was cuter...the hot tub or the gent who lived nearby! Yummy! We were laughing about how much jewelry we all have on with our itty bitty swimsuits...

Moulin Rouge!
I bought a pretty new can-can outfit and felt inspired to visit the Moulin Rouge in Paris 1900...I thought I'd take a closer look at the famous "l'elephant"...
I kicked up my heels as I swung on the trunk!
And felt very "Satine" as I reclined in the upper inner boudoir...
And stood in the upper cupola balcony overlooking the trademark windmill. I had a great time!

SL Exhibit Hopping: Bomb Factory "Windows" Art Installation
Taking the advice of Hotspur's recent post, I thought I would visit the Bomb Factory installation by artist D.B. Bailey. I agree with Hotspur's assessment of it...this was simply fantastic. It really is within a small place, but you don't mind at all and can't help but be impressed by the warm autumn colors as you walk or fly about within it...

Exhibit Hopping: AzA Zymurgy and Madcow Cosmos
My Steelhead neighbor (and their resident zombie) AzA Zymurgy is highly creative. He invited me to visit his exhibit ChemGnosis and see his work...I also got a notice about a Madcow Cosmos exhibit at the AngelGate Gallery in Pinta. I thought I'd go because Madcow is one of my favorite SL artists. His sculptures are these amazing, epic pieces that you have to see to believe. This one is entitled "Ironheart"
"Cancer's Revenge"
"Hermit Chariot"
...and "BigSmall Battle". Go see it now as the exhibit will be ending soon!

The Hollywood & TV memorials at Tribute Island allowed you to interact with them. I don't think I need to say more about this next photo...My what large teeth you have?

Otenth was laughing as the top of this dalek soon exploded, giving new meaning to the term "hot seat".

Jello in Unusual Places
Dia had a party at her home that I can only describe as "super fun" for lack of a better description! A small group of friends dancing, teasing one another, laughing and having a great time. I will say that fainting with a sword and scabbard on your back hurts because it digs into you, you know...
The party got wild. I had challenged Hotspur to a bikini jello wrestling match the other day and he called my bluff. Frequency brought out the wrestling balls and he brought the jello and it was ON. Folks got pinned, bitten (sorry about that Mr Offcourse), and slammed. I was getting offers to help get jello out of some more, um, unusual places, and I couldn't stop laughing I had so much fun!

Not in Kansas Anymore
Today I thought I would tp over to finally see AM Radio's wheatfields installation...What a beautiful build. If I was alone, I probably would have run around in there...I haven't really been myself lately...I feel I've gotten away from a lot of the things I really enjoyed about SL and the things that made me happy within it. I've been doing more of that lately...getting out and seeing exhibits and unusual things and builds again. I also used to love to swim and windsurf, so I thought I'd take a swim in the lake at my home Vista del Mar.
I should spend more time here than I do...

Haunting Hour and Gardens Almost Complete
Hotspur invited Dia and me to join him in Octoberville for the Haunting Hour, when they play classic and modern horror/ghost audio tales. The one we listened to tonight was about a town called Shadow Falls. You can listen to it for yourself here.
We even had a full moon...
Afterwards, Dia visited me at Vista, where I have almost completed my gardens that have been a months-long work in progress. You can see the artworks by Zero Ball behind the vineyard and behind me. I can't wait for Newbe to create my Vista del Mar wine casks and bottles!
Here's Dia posing. I'm really happy with the gardens. It's a place of peace for me there...

Zephyru's Exhibit Opening & the Venice Sim
Artist Zephyru Zaphedzhi invited me to the opening of his new show at the AA Expo Geneve gallery. I have a French name, but don't speak French, but it didn't stop me from enjoying myself...While there I met a woman who promotes the Second Museum of Venice, who gave me a LM to the sim...
I headed over to check it out and enjoyed wandering the bridges and canals and narrow streets...
After he attended Zen's handfasting, Newbe tp'd over and joined me to see the sights...
Venice is a very pretty Italian sim that's worth the visit for the feel alone...
