WTF LiLa of the Day: Where Oh Where...

...has my little grid gone?We should all be a bit more alert today given that Sleep Less has been down since around 1 am EST. This is one of the worst grid shutdowns I've seen since I've been inworld. I don't know...more residents + unstable grid/servers + high weekend traffic = grid goes kaboom?

Look, I love being inworld. Obviously I do and that's why I, and so many others, put up with this mess. But really, stop trying to wow us with new shiny features and fix the basic things that folks can't handle, like lag. You want big businesses to utilize it, but who would entrust their inworld/real money into something that can implode on them like this? If that big business had an event or project that needed to take place right now, do you think they'd be thrilled that their investment in this world is a bit belly up temporarily during what is supposed to be a peak usage time?

If we, the "little" folks, feel this kind of "oh hell"...how do you think a corporation or major nonprofit would react? In the meanwhile, I'll be spending the time with friends and fam today. Go on, go outside if you can! The fresh air doesn't hurt (too badly). Maybe the Grid'll be up later.

Maybe.

Almost fresh from the blog: [11:01 AM --teeple] As Jack remarked earlier, this is an extraordinarily prolonged and unusual disruption. Many high-profile services and corporations are feeling the pain this morning, and full scale efforts are underway to isolate and fix the root cause.

Wow...I hadn't seen that.

It just made common sense to me. If we're feeling it, they'd definitely feel it too and be ever-so-slightly ticked. Just like the rest of us.

Stop trying to wow us? Work on the lag and the various other problems and nags?

What kind of crazy talk is that?

Diamanda Gustafson said...

I know Puck, it's blasphemy...

Eladrienne Laval said...

Yeah, crazy talk, ya know? "Lag? What lag? Did somebody say 'lag'? And what is this 'crashing' you speak of?"

Last night I DJ'ed at the New Gomorrah Arena (It's part of the Lost Angels RP sims..) If they'd tip me for every time I crashed, I'd be a SLwealthy woman after my set was done..

Dia, I must visit Lost Angels (and of course, see you DJ!) after SL has finally come back up in about 3 weeks.

Lost Angel's is cool...you've been to Midian City, so it has that kinda feel Puck.

Michael Röhm said...

Well then you can take me on a tour, Elle!

Eladrienne Laval said...

I haven't visited it enough to be a guide. I'd like to go back again though. You know I like that sort of thing.

Michael Röhm said...

Well, we'll go together then. In three weeks, when SL comes back up. *sighs and kicks SL*

Is Sodom next door?

Michael Röhm said...

I hope not. I can imagine that'd be even more of a tourist draw and would take people away from the City!

/me considers the luggage on the edge of the bed, and truly wonders if it's time to start packing...

New Gomorrah is a rather demonic setting. It has the arena and also a lounge like area. It's rather well made.

It'd be more fun of course last night if the people that went there to fight could actually rez and attach their weapons to do so...

Michael Röhm said...

Who would want to go to a place that is "demonic?" Weirdos!

Um.. demons?
