Avilion is a medieval/fantasy role-playing sim, and I thought I'd go for a visit today. I had a great time and ended up playing the elven drums as Lady Serra danced. I had a great time and I'm looking forward to going back! While in Avilion, I visited their store Avilion Mist, and ended up on the top for a rooftop view.
I also visited Victorianna Castle, which is huge and beautiful.
This dress is my own that I created. The shoes are by Prim & Proper. The hair is ETD.

Caledon/New Babbage Wanderings: The Moors/Conservatory
Greetings! I rather liked the look of the blue & white dress so much that I created a black version to wear as I continued my Victorian explorations. Tonight I went to Caledon Moors, complete with ghosts and fog and eerie graveyards. I also headed over to the Victorian steampunk sim of Babbage Square/New Babbage, where you may see me above playing the piano and organ at their conservatory.
Mr. Webb has requested of me to create a green or blue version of my apparel, as he believes the black makes me appear "rather darkly."

Pueblo Ingles: Valdelavilla, Spain
Here I am at the sim for the real life Pueblo Ingles program.
They have recreated the village of Valdelavilla, Spain, which is one of the locations for their real life English immersion program for Spanish business executives and doctors. They also have a popular teen program as well. I did this program in real life and knowing what Valdelavilla looks like, it's pretty good! I did the one in La Alberca, in western Spain near Salamanca. Essentially, "Anglos" (English speakers from places such as the US, UK, Ireland, Australia & Canada) speak English with Spaniards to help them become more comfortable hearing and speaking it. You spend 24 hours a day with each other for almost a week. I had a great time while there and made some really great friends.
The sim for Pueblos Ingles in English-only, as the sim is the SL version of the program. I can't wait to go back to Spain again, both in real life and in SL!

Caledon Wanderings: Victoria City & Caledon Highlands
I used to love classic Victorian novels, so when I found Caledon, I knew I'd like it. Caledon is composed of more than 14 linked sims, all with the theme of 19th c. Victorian life. I love visiting here, and thought I'd make a dress just to do so! The house behind me reminds me of so many of the houses that are in my RL home. Tonight I was in Victoria City, which is one of the main sims of Caledon.
While strolling through Caledon Highlands, I came across a very well-dressed and top hatted dragon named Mr. Dominic Webb trying to herd a lot of bunnies. An inventor, he owns the Webb Workshop, where he comes up with various projects and contraptions. I ended up spending time with him as he tinkered with their scripting so that they'd hop better and not try to drown themselves in the nearby lake! Mr. Webb explained that the bunnies were for Easter sales, so if you're in Caledon, look out for them soon!

NCI Photoshop Clothing Class
Attended a Photoshop clothing class today at NCI. That's all of us wearing our avatar map templates by Robin Wood (used to correctly place and map clothing while creating them).
That's me back home afterwards trying on mine.

@ the Linxter Tangy Tuesday Salsa Party
Here's a photo of me taken by Brace Coral, who teaches a great basic clothing creation class. She's wild and funny, so I didn't pass up a chance to go salsa dancing, which is one of my favorite things to do in SL! She's part of the Linxter crew and you can find her themed parties at Usability Island, usually on Tuedays and Fridays.

Second Life's FallingWater
I love architecture and to me, SL has such potential in terms of replicating RL architecture for all of us to be able to easily visit. Tonight, I visited Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (Kaufmann House). Here is a link to more info about the original.

Felix Meritis Monastery
I'm not a particularly religious type in real life, but remember, I love the quiet contemplative places here in SL that I come across in my wanderings as much as anywhere else.
So when I came across the very pretty grounds of the Felix Meritis Monastery, which really does have an active SL monastic life, I thought I'd take the time out to light a candle for my mom, who has been very very ill in real life.
Sometimes, Second Life really can be about contemplation too...

Diversity Festival 2007
I was assigned the 2007 Diversity Festival, hosted by Verum's Place--a community center that hosts discussions and classes--as part of my dry run to be a reporter for Second Life News Network (SLNN). The organizer Verum Vacirca (on the right in the middle photo, with colleague Nieve Glasgow), gave me a pre-tour of the site, which included interactive displays such as a "World Tour" representing every continent. That's me rolling out tortillas!

Buddhist Temple
Visited a Buddhist temple today. Here I am washing my hands before entering. Took a look at the golden Buddha and meditated for a while. I picked up a free Tibetan prayer rug (complete w/incense and "Om") with me.
I love the quiet places here in SL.

NCI Salsa
Being a relatively new resident, I still participate in the occasional New Citizens Int'l (NCI) event and class at NCI South (they have multiple campuses).
Tonight, I thought I'd go to their weekly salsa party. You know how much I like to salsa!
