Themiscira Throne

While visiting the Egyptian temple/palace splendor that is Themiscira, I thought I'd take turn on the throne.
Ahhh...it's good to be queen!

Wind Chimes, Lapping Waves & Sunny Skies

Trust me, SL is a lot of fun to roam with a friend. Earlier we were racing motorcycles and flying around (and falling off of) hoverdisks. Too much fun. And, yeah, I hadn't turned off my shoefitter yet, so yup, my feet are weird.
Shake That Thing!

After Lupercalia, there I was at Mata Hari, having a really good time at their live DJ and trivia party. I got lucky and they finished out the party with my request, Prince's "Baby I'm A Star."

Lupercalia at ROMA

Tonight, I went to the final feast and party marking the end of the Lupercalia festival at ROMA. You can roleplay as an ancient Roman citizen or just check out the site as yourself.
Yes, that's me in my toga getting down. I had a great time. Fun folks. The wine was flowing. Togas, robes, and armor were moving to the beat. Someone won a sun chariot in the raffle. It was all a blur as I was doing the "EgyptTwist." Next time I'll remember to wear some sandals. A girl's feet can get worn out in non-period high heels!
Also visit the Capitoline Museum while there too. There was a very interesting exhibit on "Sex in Ancient Rome." Did you know that...wait, you're just going to have to visit it for yourself!

SL International Spaceflight Museum

In my RL, I've been working on a series of artwork based upon space photos, so I just had to have a photo next to the Hubble Telescope.
Saturn's pretty cool, huh? How could anyone ever think that space exploration's irrelevant? If I felt like this in SL, could you imagine what it'd feel like for real?

SL Challenging Architecture Notions
One of the reasons that I love SL is that I really love to build. I'm so excited about that and I'm still learning and practicing, but I love architecture and the possibilities of building in SL are relatively limitless. There are no constraints in terms of weather or materials. If you can dream it and your building skills can execute those dreams, then you can make some interesting builds. I love how the concepts of space and necessity are different. You can fly into your home and teleport between floors. It never rains or snows (unless you want it to, lol), so do you really need roofs and stairs?
I like how what we think of as standard architecture that we are comfortable with is challenged in this world. It's one of the most fascinating things about SL to me. There's a place for those who wants to have a futuristic home as well as those who want a comfort home away from home in SL.
This is one of the things that I love about it...

GHava{SL} Center for the Arts

One of my favorites is the GHava{SL} Center for the Arts, which was founded by real life artists (SL names) Rhizome Szydlowska and Xantherus Halberd and holds regular exhibits featuring contemporary artwork by top NY artists. Not to mention that the gallery itself is cool. I'm chilling on the rooftop...
Good Grief, Pt. 2
I was sitting at a table minding my own business at the New Citzens Center and this guy goes by. Next thing I know I'm in the air and I know I didn't choose to fly.
I'm going higher and higher. I had been orbited. Lovely. I had been griefed again. Arrrrgh. I need to make more use of the "Report Abuse" function or something. That's ridiculous...
Anyway, I just clicked "Stop Flying" and fell out of the sky. Yeah, that's really ladylike. Especially when you do that "kerplat!"-style landing when you hit the ground. I learned very, very quickly when I first started this about using PgDn for a more graceful touchdown.

Lost Gardens of Apollo

The Lost Gardens of Apollo always look like they are bathed in permanent sunset. It's quiet and beautiful. Friends and lovers relax in its beautiful surroundings. Sometimes you can catch a photo shoot.
Me, I like it because it's quiet and a nice place to get away from it all.

Good Grief!
I couldn't resist the title, lol...
Griefing seems to be an unfortunate thing that happens sometimes in SL. Seems you get jerks in your SL too, huh?
I got griefed in New Paris while visiting the Eiffel Tower. This guy kept harassing me, and when I ignored him, he put me in a cage. So stupid. I just teleported out.
That sucked, you jerk!

Dublin in SL!

I have been there in RL and loved it, so it was fun to walk along O'Connell Street and cross the bridge over the Liffey. The Spire is there, as well as the Post Office and you can cross the bridge to Temple Bar. It's well done and it was funny that I felt like I still remembered the way...

EL in SL!

And then you get to the welcome center at Ahern and realize someone's a giant Stay-Puft marshmallow man. Then you know pretty much anything is possible in it.
I'm Eladrienne Laval. Welcome to my Second Life.
