Happy Rez Day to Me! I'm 2!

I turn two today on my Rez Day! I am doing a happy dance to the pretty mechanical egg music box that Lunar gave me from Cannoli Capalini's shop in Babbage. It opens to reveal flowers. She makes such lovely things! Eds sent me a selection of all the cakes and goodies she has made for her patisserie so far and I think I might keel over in sugar shock. And Madcow gave me a Doom Bell avatar. Dia gave me a hilarious ThinC book based in the Wastelands called The Mutant & The Ghoul. I love it. Also, I asked a friend to do something positive for herself for my rez day. She knows what I am talking about and I'm holding her to it! This is going to be a great day!

Hmm...

Oh hell...why not?

You are The Star

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised

The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

Of Blue Skin & Moon Elves...

Anyone who truly knows me knows that when I'm not my steampunk kitty self, I shapeshift. Phin has said that he never knows which Elle he is coming inworld to. I love different skins and avatars and thanks to fellow Plurker Peter Stindberg, I am finally blue. I have always wanted a really pretty blue skin like this and I am tremendously happy with it. Even has freckles! Yay! Thank you Peter!Lunar is wonderful to me and I thought I'd repay that kindness by making a surprise for him. He had been talking about wanting elven armor. I've never made any before, but armed with RL references of Chinese, Russian, Japanese armor and medieval platemail, I decided to make a go at it. He, like I, was pretty amazed at how it turned out. It is named "Lunar Yugao" after Yoshitoshi's "100 Aspects of the Moon" woodblock engraving inspired by the Tale of Genji. A part of the engraving is embossed on the metal. I think it is one of the most beautiful things I have made in SL so far...

Zoe & the Holodeck

"You want to see it?" Zoe asked me. How could I refuse seeing a new holodeck? Fun! I looked at her and was like, "Um, we dressed alike again." "We have always done that," she said, laughing. It has several scenes and rooms that will fully rez, like this movie theatre w/projection room...
Stonehenge...
...and even a bus stop? "Well, you never know when you need to get away quickly?" she said.

Second Impression of Lively Same as the First

SLers, if you want to appreciate SL more, just head on over to Lively. We bitch and moan, but SL's platform still allows for a freedom you don't get in other places. I thought I'd take a look again today to see if my first impression had changed (No) and made a room just for the heck of it...I thought I'd explore and also visited a "Forest Room". In a way, everything kind of reminds me of being a noob in Ahern and everyone walking around and bumping into one another and griping and playing with gestures. But in SL, I knew there were interesting things to do once I got off the Island. Something funny though...this is a world where for the most part customization of one's AV is very limited, yet one guy told the blonde in the center, "Look around! You're the prettiest chick in here!" I couldn't stop laughing to myself over that as I imagined a SL bling and bimbo culture there too before popping away to...
...the Linden Lab room. Pathfinder Linden set up a LL room and folks were there hanging out and comparing SL to Lively. Right now, there isn't a true comparison. Oh, unless someone knows how, I didn't see a "Snapshot" function. These are screenshots I took and cropped in Photoshop. The controls are ugh, there is no content creation, and really...what is there to do? Hey, it'll be interesting to see how/if it evolves...

Elle Looking "Lively"

Well, there's been a big deal made about Google's Lively launching and trust me, SLers, you shouldn't be worrying too hard. It's pretty simple, the avatars are really cartoony and honestly, it's pretty boring so far. Hmm...let me make an avatar or room and hang out and talk to folks and well, that's about it. No places to explore. Nothing to create yet. When can we make out own clothing and items? Will that ever be an option. What else is there to do there? To me, unless they expand the offerings available it's really just a glorified chat room experience. I'll roam it a little more, but I doubt my first impression of it'll change. At least in SL, I had something more to look forward to as a noob...

Dear God, I look like a Bratz doll...
