In the Water: Two Ways

I thought I'd take my sailboat out and caught this beautiful sunset on the Blake Sea...

I was then inspired to do so as a mermaid too, and afterwards visited the RP sim of Eyr. I really liked the way it is setup and all and I had visited it (when it was Mystara) as a dark elf. I think that now I'll look into RPing there or something...

Underwater in Steeltopia

What started out with a chat with Steel about a new personal uniform for him led to my asking him about the water quality in Steeltopia. "It's not as bad as Babbage's, but it's...OK," he said. I cringed, thinking about Babbage's notoriously unclean waters. One word: wiggyfish. I wasn't taking any chances and figured that compared to Steelhead's pristine waters, I'd still need to wear a filter this time...
Obsidian Bay turned out to be a fun place to swim around in as a mer. Steel has a great sense of humor and seems like he has a tendency to sink things too, so there were things down there to see such as these eels. Knowing him, I assumed they were electric or something, so didn't get too close to them...I was exploring some large wreckage and all of a sudden three large tentacles sprang to life. "ACK! TENTACLES! What the HELL?!" I said. I should have known...Steel, being alien, came and joined me underwater. Seems I found his pet kraken by accident...

Steampunk Mermaid Elle

I actually love being a mermaid as much as being a tiny. I find swimming through SL and seeing it from an entirely different perspective to be calming. I found this gorgeous steampunk mermaid fin set and was like...this is it. I've found my ultimate mer look. I swam around Steelhead's waters. I think it would be fantastic if Port Harbor had an underwater place of interest to mer folk...
After all of that swimming I was a bit tired and thought I would go and relax in my bowl on the lawn. I am looking forward to exploring the waters of other places.

Mermaid Places: Blake Sea

Tonight, I wore my Kami-Hitoe koi tail and Peter Stindberg's pretty red skin and set out to the Blake Sea. Might as well explore all that water LL's got to offer, right?I swam over to the appropriately named Siren's Isle, where I found a very pretty reef with lots of underwater things to explore. I was in the middle of an IM, so I swam out of the way--trying to blend in I guess. And I'll admit it was fun to do. A tiny mermaid came over to me and giggled, complementing me on my skin and asking me if I was hiding (I was!). Turns out the little mermaid was Divergence Magic, who writes a very good blog called "The Oceans Wastelands" about all things SL mer. She's the one who actually tipped me about this place. Hey Divergence, I've got lots of questions...talk again soon?
I swam over to a nearby isle (Windlass?) and found these piers...
Afterwards, I rested my fins on an island in Blake Sea Kraken and enjoyed the view...

In the Fishbowl

Popped inworld briefly to help Lunar out with a texture. I was still a mermaid, but where else is a mermaid out of the water supposed to go in the meantime? Solution? I had a fishbowl handy...

Mermaid Places: Mermaid Temple and SL Botanical Gardens

After getting a beautiful tail and AO for Steelhead's themed dance tonight, I found that I enjoyed being a mermaid so much that I wondered where else I could go. I'll add to this list (and the SLurls) as I find more mer-friendly places. Browsing Search, I ended up at the Mermaid Temple...
Its underwater areas were lots of fun to explore and I found this cadre of sunken statues...I then found my way to the SL Botanical Gardens and its mermaid grotto...Then I thought my blue skin would look really nice in this form...And I swam cross-sim through this really pleasant creek. I think I surprised some folks, but they were polite and didn't bother me or anything...
