Fine, FINE...for Now...

Until LiLa makes up its mind, I'll change my blog header...for now. After all, wouldn't want to promote them or anything. Either way, I'll cover my ass for the moment until the 90 days is up. Perhaps I should stick a "kiss here" sign on it...

Lost in the Sewers w/Disco Pimp Puck

"Puck? Are you dressed as a pimp?" some of the regulars in Suffugium asked him upon our arrival. "A pimp? Nooo, I'm just ready to disco," he said. Why, of course. We popped into Lex Neva's shop and found the Ark in a back room. Forget the spare body parts just lying around. Yes, that ark. No melted flesh, although I told Puck that I'm surprised he didn't burst into flames just by being that close to it...Afterwards, we played the "Nuke the Crap Out of the USA" geography game--o' DOOM! I now know exactly where Kansas is and Puck can spell "Mississippi", but can't spell "Connecticut"! The fact that New Jersey's destruction won the game for him was not lost on us...
I then found an entrance to the sewers and down we went--and became lost. "I think we're going to run out of food," he said. "I've got candy in my pocket!" I said. Some off color remarks ensued and we were convinced we were hopelessly lost...
Until we found a way out...

Dancing Through It All

Went to the SL Bloggers Party at Crap Mariner's incredible clocktower build at Edloe Island, where we danced our way through a big server meltdown. How we all managed to stay inworld, who the hell knows. I came as my half of Connolly & Laval LLP, complete w/briefcase and cease and desist orders that Zoe and I regularly threatened to serve...
Here is Crap, our fabulous host, getting his robot groove on...
Me defying gravity doing the "fanbelt strut"...
I safely was able to tp back to Vista, where I sat contemplating a big decision regarding it. It has been my home for almost a year. No matter where else I put down roots in SL, Vista and the Moorings Gardens is my home. Such a long complicated story and it really makes me think about issues of home in a virtual world...

Dark Victorian Fashion Show

I had some pieces in the Dark Victorian's "Dark City" show today. I hadn't modeled before, so I was kind of nervous. I imagined somehow walking off the stage despite the anim or some other crazy glitch kicking in, but everything went really well!Lapointe & Bastchild were the headline designers, but there were also pieces from Lapin Paris, Fuschia Begonia, and Terry Lightfoot...
Afterwards, Dia spun goth tunes as we all danced...

Kheph's "Tramp" Party

A bunch of us were hanging on on a skyplat above Kheph'splace, when Bedlamie dressed down and then all of us did. "Dress as trampy" as possible. Somehow wings got added to the mix. Just a bunch of silliness with friends. Of course, I could've gone racier, but no need...And then there was Marcus. Oh fer chrissakes...

Me & My New Toys

Going through my inventory, I realized that while I had a crapload of retro weapons, I was sorely missing some great modern ones. Well, I changed that thanks to my fave Girl and Gun Zoe and was testing them out on Dia's skybox roof. All I can say is "Black Ops, I love you...I truly truly do." *kisses her Kimber Custom IIs*I'm a bad mutha--
Shut yo mouth...

New Taloo: Piano Sirens & Conversation

Salut chers! Phin's club is a nice hangout and you can always get into a great conversation there. Or lounge seductively on top of the piano like Miss Vee here...You know I understand the power of the piano. What I'm impressed by is that she's lying of opposite way of what I'm used to doing!!Me, Dia and Miss Vee sat on the stage and chatted for a while. I'm tellin' ya, sometimes I will dance by myself if the mood strikes me, ya know?

WTF LL of the Day: Brand THIS

Zoe and I had our own take on the latest declaration from the Lab and think our commercial should go a little something like this...

"Are you worried that your 2nd Lyfe needs brand protection? Have questions about the latest "comply or cry" policies? We also handle tp crash and lag-related accident settlements, as well as damages related to inventory losses. The virtual world can be a confusing place and we can help YOU today...Contact Laval & Connolly LLP now! We'll get the job done!"

Yeah, I get "why" they feel they should and while it shouldn't/hopefully won't/had better not affect us bloggers, the new brand policy has a lot of folks upset. I am looking at the very title and domain name of my blog, for instance. We've been promoting you all along SanFranMMORPGLab, so going RIAA-style on us, hmm...

New Taloo: Miss Elle's Speakeasy

Salut chers! If you're a Taloo resident, there's a little hush-hush place in town you can go to if you know where to look and who to ask. Dimly lit with a fully stocked bar, cigars, slow dancing, ragtime pianos and ooo...can't tell ya more!! Just know that when you pop in anything could be happening, including a shakedown from our rather corrupt Sheriff Connolly...

Have You Hugged a Dino Today?

I did! "Maybe I should just have primordial jungle and swamp!" my handsome neighbor Vittorio said. "Who needs a house and a yacht anyway?"

MC Escher Relativity House

In my wanderings I found a MC Escher "Relativity" house by Furia Freeloader (which is also available for sale)...Am I going up?
Am I going down?
Am I going anywhere at all?

New Taloo: Easter Parade, Taloo Style!

Salut chers! We all gathered in the market all fancy in our Easter duds and frilly hats and Rudolfo and Mama Cree led an Easter parade through the streets of Taloo!Of course, we "somehow" ended up stopping through Lafitte's, where after a hat change for everyone it's a wonder how afterwards we were all able to make it down the street to...
The cemetery, where we paid our respects to the departed who couldn't join us...
And afterwards we would our way through to the DuBois Mansion, Rudolfo's inherited home, where Mr Fernshaw, Dia and Miss Vee played. Toot that jug Mis Vee!!!
There was dancing and music and fun and we all had a great time!!

Suffugium and Monster AVs

Chilling in Suffugium, still dressed from Doc Mason's Matrix-themed party, with Kharon Hinson and Dia...Kharon is also a tiny, and makes incredible things (such as this bomber) and outfits for the not-so-cutesy...Later, I couldn't wait to wear Kheph's "Mi Go (Fungi)" monster AV! I love it!
I (and Dia too) also love this one--the "Elder Thing"! He did fantastic work on these between the textures, anims, and sounds...I have too much fun wearing these. Now, where to go in them? Any suggestions?

Crossroads and White Ponies

Went to the Crossroads sim. It is supposed to be a RP combat sim based on 1800s Gothic themes...I suppose like Stoker's Dracula. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't what I expected? Most of the residents were gathered in the main square. I hung back a bit observing. and sure enough a big fight broke out. My being Caledonian made me question some of the language being used given the supposed 1800s theme of the place, but I could've been hearing things out of context? I don't know....
As it turns out, Yonathan--the acid spewing alien I met in the Wastelands--is also usually a handsome white winged pony...
Who looks fantastic in my clothes!

Team Caledon RFL Ladies Auction

Team Caledon's RFL Ladies Auction was a big success, raising over $L328,000! 1950's & '60s retro themed, the partying itself during it was a lot of fun and I had a great time talking and dancing with Phin, who was the big bidder for a date with me...In addition to the bid posters, stories of Caledon's citizens who have been affected by cancer were displayed--including mine. I read all of them and they were inspiring, moving and heartbreaking. I think one thread in common to us all is the happiness that SL brings...

Biking Through the Wastelands

I had always heard about the post-apoc collection of sims that make up the Wastelands. I have met a few of its residents in Suffugium before. Highly creative, really nice, and pretty damn funny, so last night I thought I'd check the place out for myself...I decided I was going to bike through all 8 of the sims and brought out my trusty hobo bike. I started out in the Wastelands, went North through Burnt Oak and the North Yard and down into the Junkyard...
I want to believe that this is someone's pet just saying "Hi"...
I kept on down to Fort Stygian and around to Ashvasta and Cormac, where I found the high mesa...
I stopped to look at the Great Fissure and said hello to an alien named Yonathan. After all, just because you're a scavenger alien or a "different" being doesn't mean you shouldn't be talked to, you know? If you're a fan of creative builds and sims with a vision of theme like I am, the Wastelands is worth the trip.

Um...Yeah...

All Dia could say was "Even particles have to stay clean." I'm the blue glowing ball of light in front of her...

Because Particle and Lava Rock AVs Need Hugs Too Dammit!

Xeno, Dia and I in a group hug in my meadow...

Virtual Montmartre

Right next door to Virtual Harlem is Virtual Montmartre, the Parisian neighborhood where so many artists and creatives called home and a hangout spot. Both sims are the brainchild of Bryan Mnemonic, a professor of English lit specializing in that of 20th c. African American lit. Paris was seen as a place of freedom for many African Americans, weary of the segregation and marginalization they felt here in the U.S. Poet Langston Hughes spent time here in 1924 and Montmartre was where so many Black expatriates called home after WWI. Here I am with Sacre Coeur in the background...Walking up the hill in pumps was a breeze *gasps for air*...
The famous Moulin Rouge...I found this beautiful light-filled room. The sim is still in development, but well worth the visit!
